Stone carving... Not a win :(
I have come to realize I'm not a very patient person! I have been carving on this rock for three week and my little gargoyle is still stuck inside. After working hours and hours with hand tools, I finally broke down and used the Dremmel. I put in another couple of hours and only managed to cover my livingroom in a thick layer of dust. (Note to self- this is not an inside activity) I have decided my stone does NOT want to become a gargoyle! I will try to become one with the stone and see if I can figure out what it wants to be....
I recently started taking a stone carving class at the local arts institute. This is a totally new field for me. While it is going to be very challenging, I also found it very relaxing. Something about taking a rough object, filing down the edges and smoothing over the rough spots, transforming it into an object of beauty is very therapeutic to me. Art is my therapy!
I like to consider myself a free-spirit! I would love to be a gypsy when I grow up!
